Deadlock by Diann MillsThis book had a bit of a slow start for me. The characters are richly layered and the action is pretty quick and stays well-paced. I guess it just took me a little bit to connect with the characters. The two are as opposite as can be. He likes to fly by instinct, and she is so rule bent she comes across as rigid. Both learn that it’s when they work together using both sets of strengths that they can accomplish the most. The suspense plot was interesting and well developed. The killer is taunting them through out and keeps the pressure on in multiple ways. The romance develops fairly quickly even though both know it shouldn’t go anywhere. All in all this is a good read if you love a suspense thread with well-developed characters and the hope and promise of a romance developing at the same time.
