I thought I’d give you a quick look into one of the places I hide while I edit. It’s not always here. Other times it might be Panera or Starbucks. Maybe the library. But often I need to break away and find a place with fewer distractions. I hope you enjoy this look behind the pages! And don’t forget to enter the huge giveaway below.

It’s summer time, which means books! I’m celebrating with the following basket of goodies:

  • Shadowed by Grace
  • Mason Jar Mayhem: co-authored with Tricia Goyer in the Guidepost Sugarcreek Mysteries series
  • Rome Amore lotion and body wash

a Rafflecopter giveaway

  2. Beyond Justice, I’m excited to read it when it comes out next year! Loved your video and the little sneak peek into your writing life 🙂
To answer your question about future heroes and their careers…I’d love to see a hero who has an average job like an electrician or mailman as opposed to the more romanticized firefighters, cowboys and paramedics that appear so often in Christian Fiction. Our mailman at work is a former Army Ranger covered in tattoos and now he grows his hair out so he can donate it to Locks of Love. He’s quite the character in his own right 🙂

  3. I hope your first commenter, Laura Taylor wins this package. I have transitioned from my home to a DV shelter & back home again (after my 1st husband left). It is a hard situation to be in, & I think she needs all the encouragement she can get. I sure did! I already have a copy of Shadowed By Grace on my kindle, so I won’t enter this contest. Fingers crossed that Laura wins!!

  6. “Beyond Justice” sounds like a terrific novel and one I hope many people will read. Thanks for your giveaway.

  7. We have to wait until APRIL to read your new book, Beyond Justice! That’s NEXT year! Oh, well!! Long wait, but sure that it will be worth the wait. Thanks for hiding. 🙂

  9. I totally get the feeling of having to hide away. I write and paint, both which require time and concentration. With two kids, and my studio being the corner of my living room, I can’t really HIDE. Thankfully my kids have grown up with their mom’s weird writing and painting habits, and they are used to my head always being in the clouds. I reward them and their patience greatly with many, many trips to the library and craft stores. 😉

  10. Beyond Justice is the title. Sounds fascinating! Good luck with your writing, Cara! Enjoyed your video.

  11. Cara, it’s so wonderful to hear your voice! I hope the time you spent in “the cave” was productive. I can’t wait to read Beyond Justice when it comes out.

    April? Really?

Oh, but it will definitely be worth the wait.

    Blessings,
    Andrea

  12. I’ll be looking forward to your new book. The new genre will be great. I loved your video because it’s wonderful to hear what you struggle with & the vast amount of research which goes into every book.

Hero suggestions – a diamond buyer from New York, a surveyor who might perform surveys for sunken treasure in the Ohio river, a Native American to bring insight into their past & present lives…etc. I’m always good to offer suggestions. Good luck & have fun in Italy.

  13. Beyond Justice. I can understand needing to hide out to work. I enjoy reading about lawyers, doctors, firefighters, policement, private investigators, military. So many jobs are interesting.
