Bingeing all the Books!

Last week, Indiana got enough snow that Purdue closed for a day. That may not seem significant, but I’ve lived near Purdue for twenty years, and this is only the third day that I remember the campus being closed. Needless to say, I was grateful to not do a snow dance to campus in my car, and it allowed me a bit of time to read.

I adore reading. Y’all know that, and one of the books I read was Kristi Ann Hunter’s next Regency novel. It was soooo good. How good you ask? Good enough that I am literally binging her books in order. I’m on the sixth since Saturday, and yes, I’ve still worked and all the other things.

Hence the above quote. Reading really is like breathing for me.

I’m also always amazed about what reading reveals about me. Anyone else relate? You read about a character’s struggle, and suddenly, you have insight into something you’ve struggled with?

There’s no other way that I could travel to Regency England, or really anywhere else (thanks, COVID!) right now, so books are a wonderful way to see and experience other places.

Is there a series that you’ve binged lately?

  1. I love the Mitford series by Jan Karon. I’ve also gone through Rachel Dylan’s Windy Ridge series several times. It’s hard sometimes to go back to old friends when there are sooooo many great new books and series from various authors available. Alas just not enough hours to read. Helps to listen on audible while cleaning.

  2. I don’t usually binge read a series. I try to take a little time between each book and read something different…to make the story take longer. But…I would say ones that I read closer than others are Sarah Sundin, Terri Blackstock, Kristi Ann Hunter.

  3. Joanne Bischof’s Cadence of Grace; Mark of the Lion by Francine Rivers; and Julie Lessman’s Daughters of Boston

  4. Whenever a 3rd book releases in a series, I tend to start from the beginning again for a fresh read through. I’ve binge read series by Roseanna M White, Connilyn Cossette, and Tamera Alexander. 😍📚 That week of snow was the perfect time to curl up & read!! ☃️

  5. No, I haven’t read or reread a series, but I have plenty of books on my TBR pile that I’ve slowly been chipping away at, as well as due diligence for the various street teams I’ve joined.

  6. I haven’t binge read a series in a while but one series I’ve been enjoying is Erica Vescht’s regency romances.

  7. I’m reading several of Roseanna White’s series including Ladies of the Manor and the Codebreakers. I’ll be starting on the Culper Spy series probably next week as well

  8. I absolutely ADORE Kristi Ann Hunter as well! Hawthorne House is the best of them all, though! I’m currently binge-reading Tamara Leigh’s Age of Conquest series (and, later, everything else she’s written)! I’ve been wanting to read anything by her for a couple years now, so I finally gave in, bought a new Kindle, signed up for KU, and started reading! Best decision I’ve made in quite a while! 🙂
