I’m usually a pretty stable gal. But yesterday morning as I was getting ready for church I was in tears…over clothes! That is so not me!

I’m back in all my pre-pregnancy clothes, which is awesome, but somedays I feel like my options are living in jeans every day of my life — blech — or looking like a college student or my grandma. Now I love my Grandma dearly, but I’m not even close to 84. I don’t want to dress like it! But I’m also not as close to 18 as I once was.

Can anyone help a girl out?

I spent some time Sunday afternoon darting through all the stores in the mall — no luck. Problem probably was that I knew exactly what I was looking for. Problem is none of the designers must be on the same page. Ever have that happen to you?

I guess I want to adopt Audrey Hepburn’s style. Boatneck t-shirts and capris (when it gets a bit warmer). Pretty skirts with ballet slippers. Things like that.

So what’s your style? And if you’re a fortunate soul, have you found any place that actually sells clothes that reflect that style?

  1. GARAGE SALES!

No, I’m serious. I live in a small, small town and the nearest shopping mall is over 130 miles away (can you say STICKER SHOCK!?:) And some of the nicest clothes from the people who are looking for a wardrobe re-vamp.

I’ve a jeans/Levi’s kinda gal and then a cute top. I really don’t have a “style”, but know what you mean. There isn’t much out there for those of us who want to dress conseratively and look nice at the same time. Christopher and Banks can have some great sales and nice clothes. 🙂

Hope you meet with success soon! 🙂

  2. I actually think that would be a great style for you. I can see you in the skinny capri’s. But no matter what– I bet you’re going to have trouble finding your size. I had a friend that had to shop in the kids section because she was so thin. And that doesn’t always look adult.

What about Gap? They have some cute skinny pants sometimes.

  3. Whereas before I would get whatever fit, now I know that I can develop a style. I’m pretty excited about that. I don’t know for sure what it’s gonna be, but I do know that I plan on enjoying my summer discovering my style in my new size 🙂
