Christmas Giveaway Day 11

Today I’m giving away two books by friends Tricia Goyer and Kathryn Cushman. Tricia writes in so many different genres it’s truly amazing. The Memory Jar  is Amish and set in Montana. Who knew, right? And Kathryn writes gripping stories that run deep.

The Memory Jar: Every year, 30–40 young Amish men descend on the cozy little town of West Kootenai, Montana, arriving in the spring to live there for six months and receive ‘resident’ status for the hunting season in the fall. They
arrive as bachelors, but go home with brides! Sarah Shelter has lived in West Kootenai for the last ten years and wonders if she will ever fall in love. Since the tragic death of her best friend, she carries her memories in a jar along with the small items connected to them. For just as long, she’s also been carrying around her emotions instead of allowing them to penetrate deep into her heart. Now she’s met a kind and gentle man who may be able to break down the wall. But can Sarah risk her heart to finally achieve her dreams?

Leaving Yesterday: Alisa Stewart feels like she’s lost two sons: her youngest to a terrible tragedy and her eldest, Kurt, to a life ruined by addiction. But now Kurt has checked himself into rehab and found a healing faith that seems real. It’s like he’s been raised from the dead.

Then a detective arrives at Alisa’s door asking questions about a murder–the death of a drug dealer before Kurt entered rehab. Alisa fears losing her son again, and when she finds evidence linking him to the killing, she destroys it. Her boy is different now. He’s changed and deserves a second chance.

But when another man is charged with the crime, Alisa finds herself facing an impossible choice: be silent and keep her son or give up everything for the truth.

  2. My favorite genre is Christian Suspense followed by Christian Historical…. I also enjoy Amish.

The funny thing is, I knew about the Amish community in Tricia’s books because I live only an hour away..lol.. Its the only official Amish community in Montana and was started in the 1970’s.

    Happy New Year!

  3. Oh my, I really don’t have a favorite genre. I read them all! I’m an avid reader so the genre doesn’t matter to me as long as it is a good book.

    Blessings!

  4. Hey, Cara! I really like to read Christian historical fiction and Amish fiction novels the best. I just finished Courting Cate by Leslie Gould and loved it. I can’t wait to read one of yours!

  5. I love historical fiction, but intrigue/suspense, especially medical suspense come in as a close second. I really think I enjoy whatever genre I am reading at the time 🙂
