It’s almost Christmas time — I can’t believe I just typed those words! — so I thought today, I’d share three of my favorite Christmas books from the last couple years. Then I’d share three brand new releases I can’t wait to finish reading and end with a giveaway of one of them.
I adore Rachel Hauck’s royal fairytales, and A Royal Christmas Wedding was no different. The last book in the series, I loved this novella. In fact, I called it the perfect cap to the series — though I hate to see it end. It’s a sweet story of love lost and healing. Just perfect for Christmas reading.
Together This Christmas is by Beth Vogt, and this novella has so much heart. This was a charming novella that got me in the Christmas mood with all the feels of a Hallmark movie. Mika and Ben are the perfect friends-to-more romance. Add in a wedding, everything going wrong, and an almost fiancé and the book is such fun while also tugging at your heart strings. I loved it!
Then there’s Holly and Nick Hate Christmas. Oh my! This book was just what I needed. An ode to Christmas that left me singing Jingle Bells as I looked for my love fern. It was a romp with heart and had me rooting so hard for Holly and Nick. It could have been a sappy and saccharine Hallmark-esque ode to Christmas. Instead, this had so much heart, laughter, and love. Each page was a delight and filled with the best characters and fun. Got me in the ho, ho, ho mood.
I’m equally excited to dive into this year’s round of books. Currently I’m halfway through Toni Shiloh’s Matchmaking Christmas. This one reminds me of the Haley Mills Parent Trap. It’s such a fun vibe. Then there’s Sarah Sundin’s Twelve Days and Twelfth Night. This has all of her WWII setting with the rich historical detail that I can’t wait to sink into. With its homefront setting, it reminds me of the Christmas collection we did together with Tricia Goyer: Where Treetops Glisten. Finally, I have Belle’s Christmas Carol by Michelle Griep. I have been eager to read this one since Michelle and I talked about it for an episoe of Book Talk that released last month.
Speaking of Christmas books, I was looking through books that I have for sale in my inventory and found ten paperback copies of Christmas in Mistletoe Square that was a fun collaboration from several year ago with Pepper Basham, Janine Rosche and Teresa Tysinger. You can no longer get this book — it’s out of print in paper, but it’s a beautiful book and would make a great gift. I also have signed bookplates that make this a very special gift. Just use this link to go to my website to learn more and purchase the book.
Now for the fun part. I have an extra copy of Michelle’s book Belle’s Christmas Carol. When that happens, I love to do a giveaway. I think it’s such fun to help ya’ll discover new to you authors, and I love spreading a little seasonal cheer — even if Indiana is struggling to feel like it’s fall. So all you have to do to be entered is to use the form below. Good luck! And if you need help getting in the Christmas spirit this year, give one of these books a try.
