Flight Risk Book Birthday & Scavenger Hunt

Cara giveaways 3 Comments

Flight Risk releases today. Woot! I love book birthdays! They are the culmination of so much work.

The idea for Flight Risk was born a few years ago when my editor told me Savannah needed her own story. Then a fellow professor mentioned a situation with a plane’s black box. I added in a plane crash from the 1980s, and the crux of the story was there. Then I needed a hero.

Jett Glover is a journalist driven to find the truth after indifferent reporting led to tragedy for his family. However, the race to find the truth is filled with twists and turns. I thought it would be fun to build a hunt ala Flight Risk around this theme of finding truth.

I’ve also recruited several of my friends to be part of the fun. Each day between April 9th and April 19th, you’ll visit one of them on social media or their blogs where you’ll find three headlines. One is false. The other two are true. The twist?

You have to vote for which one you think is the fabrication. To do that you’ll come back to this post and enter your votes in the form below. You can come back as often as you need (but just in case, you can also find the form here.)  ENTRIES CLOSE APRIL 21, 2020.

Vote for the one you think is false. Here’s where you’ll go:

Just visit each post and then come here to vote for the headline you believe is false.

From those who vote for each entry, the grand prize winner will receive a $25 gift card to their favorite bookstore, a signed copy of Flight Risk, and a bracelet with an encouraging word hand-stamped on it. The second place winner will receive a signed copy of Flight Risk and a necklace (one of Cara’s favorites!). The third and fourth place winners will receive a signed copy of Flight Risk. (No purchase is necessary.)
