I know you’re thinking: “It’s not Friday, Cara.” Oh, so true. But I actually took a break over Christmas, and want to share this book with you now 😉 I’ve got a giveaway and the author has a great giveaway that ends TODAY. Hence the Fiction Friday post, that’s really a Fiction Tuesday post.
Some books arrive, and I can’t wait to start reading them, while others linger a bit as life intervenes. Regina Jennings has become one of my go-to historical authors because she writes real characters who often have a sense of humor, but also a real lesson to learn about themselves and God. I know I’ll laugh out loud at least a few times while seeing something new.

Her latest book At Love’s Bidding is no different from the earlier ones I’ve loved.
Miranda is on a mad dash to save her family’s business by salvaging a painting they auctioned off by mistake. But to do so, her grandfather buys a sale barn — one that sells livestock rather than the art and heirlooms that are family sells. Wyatt Ballentine is content with his life — he thinks. Then Miranda rushes in and upends his safe, comfortable life. The two are from completely different worlds. She’s caught between rich and poor, and he is completely backwoods country. But now that their lives have collided, they have to decide what they will do about it as the mystery draws them together and then shoves them apart.
I loved how this story wove in a little mystery and a lot of God. I never felt preached at — rather I felt encouraged and challenged. This book is perfect for romance lovers who love historicals that also strengthen their faith.

I don’t think I read many books that came out in 2015 but the one I enjoyed rereading was The Witness by Dee Henderson

I read so many good books in 2015! Hard to choose just one, but I was thrilled to be able to catch up on the Julie Klassen’s books I had missed. I also read some great series books by Coleen Coble, Dani Pettrey & Sarah Ladd. This year, I’ve made myself a Pinterest board to list every book I read, it’ll be interesting to see how many there are at the end of 2016!
I don’t think I have a favorite! I read a lot of great authors last year. I’ve been keeping up with Denise Hunter’s and Becky Wade’s books, and I just discovered Sarah Sundin. I also read my first Karen Witemeyer book (Head in the Clouds) and my first Jody Hedlund (Rebellious Hearts) and loved them both!
