Looking for Something to Read?
If you’re like me, then you probably always have at least one, if not two, three or four books that you are reading. Many days that’s one or two audiobooks. One or two novels and one or two nonfiction titles. I’m always reading as well as writing. It’s really like breathing. Then when I find books I enjoyed, I love sharing them with others. This week, I’ve enjoyed two very different books from two good friends.
Over the long weekend I inhaled Dedicated to the One I Love. I’ve always enjoyed Beth’s books but they tend toward women’s fiction. This is the first straight romance of hers that I’ve read in years, and I loved this fun romp through the writing world. I loved every page with its nods to You’ve Got Mail, the Rocky Mountains and the joys and strains of writing. It celebrates the joys and trials of finding love. An absolutely delightful read that I recommend, and the length between a novella and full length novel is ideal for summer and vacations.
This book is a beautiful blend of Regency perfection. Take equal parts lost love, old ancesteral home, wounded widow, and a mystery that could destroy the hope of a future and you have a story I couldn’t walk away from. Add in secrets and love and it was perfect on so many levels. I have long been a fan of Sarah Ladd’s atmospheric words that transport me to Jane Austen’s England and In the Shelter of Hollythorne House is exhibit A for why. Do yourself a favor and pick up this book. You won’t be disappointed.
Because of a shipping error from Sarah’s publisher I ended up with a case of Hollythorne House. That means I have a few to giveaway. I thought I’d start by offering one here. Be sure to leave a form to enter.

You’ll love this one, Beth.
Sounds like a great story
I love how unique these books are: different genres and settings. I’m always looking for new authors. I too “read voraciously” as you say in your podcast Cara!
